Teddy Maithai is a multimedia artist and curator whose work explores the intersection of creativity, community, and immersive experiences. His artistic journey began at the age of nine while attending boarding school in the English countryside, where he first discovered his passion for Fine Art. He later pursued formal art studies in high school before enrolling at Parsons School of Design in New York City in 2017, where he majored in Product Design. Immersed in the diverse creative landscape of NYC, Maithai developed a deep appreciation for multidisciplinary art forms. In 2022, he launched the first MŌCANA exhibition in Greenwich Village as part of his thesis project, marking the beginning of an evolving platform dedicated to artistic collaboration and storytelling. After graduating, he honed his expertise in creative production at MATTE PROJECTS before dedicating himself to MŌCANA. Through MŌCANA, Maithai curates and produces exhibitions guided by The Four C’s of Creativity: Community, Collaboration, Curation, and Connection. His work transforms spaces into dynamic environments that foster artistic dialogue and shared experiences. From his early exhibitions in New York to his ongoing creative explorations, Maithai continues to push the boundaries of multimedia artistry, bringing people together through thoughtfully curated visual and experiential narratives.
