REDLIGHT LAB & STUDIO
Redlight Lab is a vintage photography studio was founded by Sun Thapphawut. His studio focuses on alternative process from traditional film to wet plate ambrotype.
He graduated in art from Bangkok University and spent more than two years teaching himself photography.
Red Light Lab originated from the idea for his photography thesis project. Around the same time, the ChangChui project was about to launch, so he presented this style of photography project to Lim Somchai Songwattana, the owner of ChangChui.
Lim showed great interest in Sun’s work because it involves a classic photographic technology dating back to the 1850s. It is a photographic practice that has largely faded away and is extremely rare in the present day, yet it produces fascinating results.
