Established 2017 Worn by creatives and independent minds across the world — from emerging musicians in London to internationally recognized artists such as Post Malone, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Suki Waterhouse — Rich Cast of Characters has grown organically through culture rather than convention. Founded in Bangkok in 2017 by Sonia Piyaphan, Rich Cast of Characters is a footwear label inspired by iconic individuals — past and present — and by the surrealist work “A Friends Reunion” by Max Ernst, a painting that reflects the quiet power of distinct personalities coexisting, each with their own voice and presence. This idea forms the foundation of the brand: footwear designed not for trends, but for character. Each pair is handcrafted in Thailand in small runs by experienced artisans, using carefully selected materials such as premium Nappa leather, lambskin, croc-embossed calfskin, and fine suedes. Production is closely monitored from pattern development to final finishing, ensuring integrity, precision, and longevity. Rich Cast of Characters represents a slower, more intentional approach to luxury — where individuality, permanence, and emotional connection take precedence over seasonal cycles. The brand creates footwear that becomes part of the wearer’s identity — pieces that endure, both physically and symbolically.
